Quick Progress at Runway Startup Incubator
At InnoThunder, we’re building the first complete safety ecosystem for paragliders – and we’re excited to share some great progress on both the technical and business fronts.
Last month, we were honored with the Startup Campus Award at the Startup Campus Ecosystem Event (Spring 2025), which opened the door for us to join the Runway Startup Incubator at Technopark Winterthur. Having kicked off the time at the Runway with a delicious startup brunch together with other founders and the Runway team, we’re thrilled about the exciting opportunities this community offers and are grateful to be part of it.
Since our last update we’ve hit several technical milestones and are working towards our first test flights with our universal hardware. Software Development, CAD work and testing – we’re deep in it and can’t wait to see our system perform in real-world conditions. Fingers crossed and stay tuned – our first public demo is just around the corner!
Here’s what we’re working on:
- 🧠 An intelligent flight instrument that predicts wing collapses before they happen and gathers data about your wing in-flight
- 📲 A smart safety app with structured briefings, flight analytics, and reflection tools to support a balanced safety-mindset
Together, the app and the flight instrument deliver powerful flight analytics and actionable insights, helping pilots improve both safety and performance. By tackling the main causes of accidents – human error and sudden wing collapses – our data-driven ecosystem aims to prevent up to 70% of all accidents.
